The universe seems to be hell-bent on trying to keep Belle (Emilie de Ravin) and Mr. Gold/Rumplestiltskin (Robert Carlyle) apart. And, in Season 5, their situation is more difficult than ever as the Disney Princess falls into a deep sleeping spell that cannot be remedied with true love’s kiss. Will she wake up in time to live happily ever after in the upcoming season? Sources suggest that Belle will remain under the sleeping spell in Season 6, but she will not completely be absent in future episodes. In fact, she will be going to adventures with her beau for the first time in years, according to an information published by TV Line.
The site caught up with the show’s executive producers, Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis, to ask about Belle and Rumplestiltskin’s status in the upcoming season. They revealed that Belle will still be asleep. Getting her out of the box to wake her up is one of the problems that need to be solved in Season 6. “Belle is with Rumple — she’s in Pandora’s Box, in the sleeping curse,” Kitsis explained. TV Line clarified that Rumplestiltskin received the box as part of his deal with newcomer Mr. Hyde (Sam Witwer). “What we really focus on at the start is: ‘How the heck does he get her out of the box and wake her,'” adds Horowitz. The show creators refused to tell where the journey to find the cure for the sleeping curse will lead the couple, but a new character might be able to help.
ABC is currently looking for a young actor who will play the role of Morpheus, the Greek God of Dreams, in Season 6. Will he be able to help Rumplestiltskin and Belle? Or will he use his powers to further bring terror to the residents of Storybrooke? Last month, Entertainment Weekly reported that “Once Upon A Time” will adopt a new format. In Season 6, instead of two story arcs before and after the winter break, there will be one plot that will be told in the span of 23 episodes. “This season is going to be different from past because it’s not going to be Hyde comes to town, we fight with him for 10 episodes, and then in the winter finale, he dies and we move on,” Kitsis teased.
“We are changing around what we’re doing this year and going back to that season 1 mentality of small town stories and smaller arcs.” “Once Upon A Time” Season 6 will premiere on Sep. 25, 2016 on ABC.
